The current ‘standard’ 5ml dosing pipettes are 3-part - the barrel, plunger rod and a plunger tip push-fitted into the end of the plunger rod.

The new design comprises just two parts, so offers a cost saving. It is also shorter, has a transparent barrel, the printing is on the outside of the barrel and it has narrower finger-grips meaning it is simpler to introduce into secondary packaging.
