Ebenezer Scrooge is the central character in the Charles Dickens novella, A Christmas Carol.

The novella recounts the story of an elderly miser who is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the spirits of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Yet to Come. In the process, Scrooge is transformed into a kinder, gentler and more generous man.
