Adelphi has seen significant year-on-year growth over the last ten years. During that time our team has grown by more than 60% (and continues to do so), we’ve welcomed four new manufacturing partners, introduced myriad high-spec pharmaceutical packaging components, and celebrated our 50th birthday. Our next exciting development is a new warehouse. This new facility will be the second expansion to our warehousing during this period and will provide an additional 50% stockholding capacity.
Located just a few hundred yards from our head office in Sussex, the new development will provide one thousand pallet spaces and builds on our existing commitment to lightning-fast turnarounds on premium primary packaging, which is essential to the success of our customers.
The introduction of Annex 1 has fueled an ever-increasing demand for sterile, ready-to-use packaging within the pharmaceutical, biotech and associated arenas. Adelphi has already amplified our stockholding of RTU container-closure systems, including SCHOTT adaptiQ® sterile vials, West NovaPure® stoppers, RTU seals and sterile RayDyLyo® vial caps. Our new warehouse will allow us to increase this from-stock offering still further, whilst maintaining a consistently high level of non-sterile primary drug packaging for those who choose to sterilise inhouse.
As a company we are committed to serving the needs of our customers, and as demand grows so must we!
The newly acquired site originally housed three local businesses, including a van rental business, an MOT centre and a music school. With one site tenant grateful for the opportunity to expand into new larger premises, demolition of this first building has been carried out, and active construction was able to begin in June 2023.
Initial works are dedicated to the construction of a new purpose-built garage and office complex to house our tenants, after which their current premises will be demolished and construction of Adelphi Healthcare Packaging’s new warehouse will begin.
This recent land purchase has provided us with the opportunity to support two valuable Sussex enterprises.
In line with Adelphi’s commitment to support our local community, the decision was taken not only to encourage the remaining businesses to stay on site, but also to provide them with new and improved premises, replacing the existing old and uninsulated buildings with new, state-of-the-art workspaces.
By building new facilities for our tenants in advance of our own warehouse, we can ensure minimal disruption to the running of their businesses. Our goal is that these valuable members of our community lose no more than one business day during the move.
Parkers MOT are a highly respected local institution with the expertise to carry out 1, 2, 4, 5 and 7 MOT test classes. This means they can provide MOT services for a multitude of vehicle types including ambulances and heavy goods vehicles.
Parker’s MOT owner Jonathan has had input into the layout of the new building to ensure it best supports the running of his business, and says “Our current building is cold and dark and has asbestos roofing. I’m excited for the completion of new building which will be warmer, have more natural daylight and will be a much nicer environment to work in. It’s great that our business can continue to run while the work is taking place.”
Rok Skool are a music school offering tuition to children and adults alike. Their facility includes a recording studio, rehearsal rooms and a band room.
Many students of Rok Skool go on to complete degree-level courses, including those offered by BIMM (British and Irish Modern Music Institute), who have academies based in vibrant musical cities across the UK, Ireland and Germany.
Adelphi takes its responsibility to the local community seriously. We have a long history of supporting local events, sporting teams and the arts.

The new Adelphi warehouse project is being carried out by Essex-based Mitchell Design & Construction who pride themselves on their commitment to ethical practices and environmental sustainability. Adelphi have worked with Mitchell’s on a number of projects including the construction of our headquarters in Haywards Heath, various extensions, and community projects such as a new state-of-the-art facility built for local Sussex business, Barkers Garage.
Mitchell’s founder and director Peter Mitchell said of his years working on Adelphi builds, “from the first building on the Mill Green Road site, Adelphi have embraced design and build as a method of procuring cost effective industrial buildings. Whilst working closely with the design team, to achieve energy efficient buildings they have also demanded sustainable construction and to incorporate the latest components, such as solar panels, rainwater capture and power storage with batteries”
As ever, sustainability is at the forefront of our newest construction which will incorporate solar panels on South-facing roof elevations, rainwater harvesting to collect water for toilet cisterns and electric vehicle (EV) charging points.
